The Uppala farmstead was one of the original farms in the Seinäjoki region and the town was gradually built around it. Studies tracing the history of the farm all the way to the 17th century revealed that the Uppa district derives its name from the farm. The manor’s intriguing history includes numerous interesting events and encounters, such as a visit by the renowned architect Alvar Aalto.
Having been a working farm for centuries, Uppala’s roots are deep in the Finnish soil. Even today, our food is made from pure, high-quality Finnish ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible. All our dishes are prepared from scratch in our own kitchen.
Uppala Manor is open all year round and it specialises in serving as a venue for meetings and celebrations. Our other specialities include wine-tasting events and afternoon teas. In summer, our beautiful garden offers an idyllic setting for weddings, graduation parties and live music events. Our location, close to the centre of Seinäjoki, a stone’s throw away from the Seinäjoki City Theatre, combined with our interesting history, ensures a unique experience for groups.
